JOB POSTING Editor/Reporter at-Large Landmark Community Newspapers, LLC Shelbyville, Kentucky Landmark Community Newspapers, a community newspaper company headquartered in Shelbyville, Ky., with 54 paid newspapers in 13 states, is seeking an editor/reporter at-large. The editor/reporter at-large is responsible for covering any newsroom job at any LCNI newspaper in cases of emergency or other staffing shortages. Work will fall primarily, but not exclusively, at smaller papers with small staffs, and could be in any job, including the editor's. The editor/reporter at-large may stay at a single property for a period of days, weeks or even months, depending on the need determined by the Editorial Director. Qualifications: * Three to five years experience in news; experience at a weekly newspaper is preferred * Excellent news judgment * Good pagination and copy editing skills * Ability to handle a variety of duties under deadline pressure * Good organization and time-management skills * Ability to work well either independently or with limited support and supervision Essential Functions: * Handle layout and pagination * Write news, features and sports articles * Take photographs * Supervise the work of other editorial employees when filling in for an editor * Develop story ideas and reporting strategies * Quickly adapt to new equipment, co-workers and community figures * Travel frequently for open-ended periods Supervision: This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Editorial Director of LCNI, who will determine work schedule and location week to week.
