JOB POSTING MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST Sentinel-News Shelbyville, Kentucky The Sentinel-News in Shelbyville, Ky., a twice-weekly newspaper and Web site in the middle of Kentucky's beautiful horse country, is seeking a talented and motivated multimedia journalist to cover local news. The Sentinel-News, part of Landmark Community Newspapers, is in Shelby County, the heart of an aggressive growth area, 20 minutes from Louisville and Frankfort and 40 minutes from Lexington. QUALIFICATIONS: — Bachelor's degree in journalism and significant experience at the college or weekly level — Spanish skills are a plus — Good writing, researching and interviewing skills — Good grammar, spelling and punctuation required — Competency in photography, Photoshop — Good pagination skills designing pages in InDesign — Ability to create multimedia presentations for the Web — Good organization and time management skills — Knowledge and interest in the Internet ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: — Recognize news, write clear and focused stories on deadline, discover key facts from complicated information and communicate them clearly — Develop sources and have a good eye for the offbeat feature — Take photographs — Create multimedia presentations for the Web — Develop/write features for special publications.
