Jones Named Editor of the Chiefland Citizen

Lou Elliott Jones has been named editor of the Chiefland Citizen, Chiefland, FL effective immediately. The Chiefland Citizen is a weekly newspaper with a circulation of 2,992.

Jones joined the Citizen a year ago as a staff writer, and because of her strong newspaper background and leadership abilities, was promoted to news editor last fall. She previously worked for Landmark as bureau editor at The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, VA. She has worked with Gannett Company in various capacities, including states news editor for USA Today and assistant news editor for the Pensacola News Journal.

She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A & I, a bachelor’s degree in food service management from Johnson & Wales University and as associate’s degree in the culinary arts from JWU.
