Mitchell Named Publisher of New Albany Gazette

T. Wayne Mitchell has been named publisher of the New Albany Gazette, New Albany, MS effective immediately. The New Albany Gazette is a twice-weekly newspaper with a circulation of 3,593.

Mitchell has served as interim publisher of the paper since May. He was the executive editor at the Times Daily in Florence, AL for three years. He was editor and senior vice president of news for the Independent-Mail in Anderson, SC for 16 years. He has also worked for newspapers in Georgia, California, New York and Missouri.

He has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
